Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, was established in 2003 by the order of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and commenced its commercial operations with a flight to Beirut in November of the same year. Its headquarters is located in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, while its main hub is Zayed International Airport. Etihad Airways operates as an independent full-service airline and is known for its luxury and premium services. Not a member of any airline alliance, Etihad has positioned itself independently. As of July 2025, the airline's fleet consists of 107 aircraft, including both Airbus and Boeing models. Etihad Airways - Baggage Policy

For other destinations, the total weight limit is usually between 23-30 kg. Business and First Class passengers have a baggage allowance of two pieces, each weighing 32 kg, for US and Canada flights, and a total of 40-50 kg for other destinations. For additional baggage needs, you can purchase extra baggage online through reservation management and save up to 65% until 30 hours before the flight. Special Baggage: Different rules apply for special items such as sports equipment, musical instruments, and strollers. Sports equipment can be carried in checked baggage for an extra fee. Musical instruments can be carried in the cabin or as checked baggage, provided they are in a protective case, with a maximum cabin weight limit of 12 kg. Strollers can be carried for free in checked baggage as long as they are foldable. A fee of 50-100 USD is generally applied for sports equipment.

Etihad Airways - Check-in & Seat Selection

Check-in Options: Online check-in for Etihad Airways passengers opens 30 hours before departure and continues until 1 hour before the flight.
