Kuwait Airways is an independent airline without alliance membership and is not affiliated with alliances like Star Alliance, oneworld, or SkyTeam. With significant milestones in its history, the airline entered the jet age in the 1960s, launching flights to London with the Comet 4C and Boeing 707 and expanding its fleet in the 1970s. After restructuring following the Iraqi invasion in 1990, the airline increased long-haul flights with Boeing 777s, contributing significantly to Kuwait's economy as one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East.
