Pegasus Airlines About

Pegasus Airlines is a low-cost airline established in Istanbul in 1990 as a joint venture of Aer Lingus, Silkar Investment, and Net Holding. Pegasus, which made its first flight with charter services in May 1990, was purchased by Yapı Kredi Bank in 1994 and taken over by ESAS Holding in 2005, starting scheduled domestic flights in November. With this step, it began serving as Turkey's fourth scheduled airline. Pegasus is headquartered in Istanbul Pendik Kurtköy, with its main hub at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. It also has secondary hubs in cities like Izmir and Ankara. The airline is not a member of any global alliance. Although Pegasus's fleet mainly consists of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, 52 Airbus A321neo and 100 Boeing 737-10 have been ordered as part of fleet expansion plans between 2025-2034. As of January 2026, the average age of the fleet is stated to be 4.9 years. The airline operates flights to 130 destinations in 49 countries with a fleet of over 100 aircraft. These destinations are distributed as 37 domestic and 93 international routes. Before the pandemic, the annual number of passengers was around 30-40 million, and Pegasus holds the title of being the first private airline traded on Borsa Istanbul (PGSUS). By realizing the vision of "flying is everyone's right" with its young fleet and high on-time departure rates, it has become the leader of the low-cost aviation model in Turkey.

If you need extra baggage, you can purchase additional baggage up to a maximum limit of 32 kg for checked baggage. Special Baggage: Pegasus can provide flexibility for special baggage needs; however, there may be specific rules and charges for items such as sports equipment, musical instruments, strollers, and wheelchairs. It would be beneficial to contact Pegasus directly for detailed information on the transportation and pricing of special items. The transportation of such items may generally require extra arrangements before the flight.

Pegasus Airlines - Check-in & Seat Selection

Check-in Options: Pegasus Airlines offers various check-in options for its passengers. Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 90 minutes before the flight. You can complete this process via flypgs.com or the Pegasus BolBol mobile app. After check-in via the mobile app, you can download your boarding pass in QR-coded PDF format and save it to your phone. At the airport, kiosk/self check-in service is also available, which is a very practical solution for passengers with baggage. Counter check-in times close 45 minutes before the flight for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights. You can use your boarding pass both in printed form and on your mobile device. Seat Selection: Seat selection on Pegasus varies depending on your ticket type. In the Basic fare, seat selection is paid, with prices ranging from 50-200 TL. In the Essentials and Comfort packages, seat selection is free, except for extra legroom seats. Pegasus offers premium seat options to provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience. Seats with extra legroom, such as emergency exit rows and front rows, are offered at prices ranging from 100-500 TL. In the Business Flex package, all seats, including extra legroom, are free, and priority boarding advantages are included.

Pegasus Airlines - Meal Service

On Pegasus Airlines, in-flight meal service is generally paid and may vary in certain classes. In economy class, basic beverages such as water, tea, and coffee are offered for short-haul flights, while snack or hot meal options are available for flights longer than 4 hours. Pegasus Cafe offers a menu with sandwiches, hot meals, and snacks available for purchase throughout the flight. Passengers can pre-order special meal options such as vegan, diabetic, gluten-free, and baby menus at least 24 hours before the flight. Halal standards are provided in the general menu, while kosher meal options are more limited. Business Flex packages include higher quality refreshments, but details may vary depending on the selected package. With contactless payment options onboard, passengers can easily shop.

Pegasus Airlines - Loyalty Program

Pegasus's loyalty program, Pegasus BolBol, allows passengers to earn BolPoints through expenses such as flights, hotel stays, and car rentals. For example, every 1 TL spent earns 1 BolPoint. These points can be used for ticket purchases, additional services (e.g., extra baggage or seat selection), and discounts at Pegasus Cafe. The Pegasus BolBol program has four membership levels: Classic, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Higher levels offer advantages such as priority check-in, lounge access, extra point earnings (50-100% bonus), and free baggage. The program also allows BolPoint transfer through credit card partnerships with banks. Membership is free, and points are valid for 3 years. It can be easily managed via the mobile app. Partner airlines are limited and generally include local collaborations.

Pegasus Airlines - Cancellation & Changes

Cancellation Conditions: Pegasus Airlines offers a free cancellation option in certain packages as part of its cancellation policy. For example, with the Comfort Flex package, you can use your right to cancel your flight for free. Flexible ticket options like Comfort Flex allow you to pay less when making changes. Name changes are generally possible and can be made for a certain fee. Change rules may vary depending on the selected package type. Refund Process: Refunds are generally made back to the original payment method, and the process may take a few business days to complete. In the case of no-show, the refund or change of your ticket is generally not possible, and the ticket fee may be forfeited. However, flexible ticket options may offer more flexibility in such situations.

Pegasus Airlines - Seat Comfort & Entertainment

Seat Comfort and Legroom: As a low-cost carrier, Pegasus Airlines offers seats with basic comfort features. The legroom of seats generally offered in economy class varies between approximately 71-78 cm. The seat width is generally around 43-46 cm. The seats are covered with fabric material and are designed to meet basic comfort needs. Since Pegasus's aircraft generally perform short and medium-haul flights, the recline angle of the seats is kept limited. As there is no Business or Premium class, the same seat comfort standards are offered to all passengers. In-flight Entertainment: Pegasus Airlines offers limited options in terms of in-flight entertainment systems. Instead of personal screens, passengers can access various entertainment content through the Pegasus mobile app on their own devices. Through this app, they can access movies, music, and various digital content. Wi-Fi service is provided during the flight, usually as a paid service, with different speed options available. Features such as USB or power outlets are generally not available on the seats, so passengers are advised to charge their devices in advance. Since Pegasus primarily operates short-haul flights, entertainment options are limited accordingly.

Passengers wishing to benefit from this service must indicate this during ticket reservation. Airline personnel take care of the children before and after the flight to ensure they travel safely. Pregnant passengers between 28-35 weeks must have a travel-eligible report from their doctor to participate in the flight. Passengers are not allowed to fly from the 36th week onwards. Cargo/Baggage Compartment Transport: There is an option to transport larger pets in the cargo compartment. There are weight limits and certain breed restrictions for animals to be transported in this section. Detailed information and compliance with the rules set by Pegasus should be considered. There are special arrangements for guide and support animals. It is recommended to make your pet transport reservation early.
