Çukurova International Airport is located within the borders of Tarsus district in Mersin province and serves a wide region covering Adana, Mersin, Osmaniye, and Hatay. Officially opened on August 10, 2024, the airport is recognized by the IATA code COV. With an annual capacity of 9 million passengers, Çukurova Airport features a main runway that is 3500 meters long and 60 meters wide, as well as an auxiliary runway that is 3500 meters long and 45 meters wide. With these features, it plays a significant role in both passenger traffic and cargo transportation. The airport houses various facilities for passengers, including duty-free shopping areas, stores, restaurants, and cafes. Additionally, cargo transportation services that contribute to the regional economy are also offered.
Terminal Information
Çukurova Airport has two terminal buildings, one for passengers and the other for cargo. The passenger terminal, which is 110,000 m² in size, provides both domestic and international services in the same area. However, detailed information about which airlines operate at which terminal is not yet available. A structure has been designed to allow passengers to easily transition between terminals, offering a comfortable travel experience.
Getting from Airport to City Center
High-Speed Train (Planned): The Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep high-speed train line will be integrated into the airport. Once the line is completed, passengers boarding the train from Mersin will be able to reach the airport in approximately 23 minutes. High-speed trains will reach speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
Taxi Service: Taxi service provided by Havamaş is available at the airport. This option offers a fast and practical transportation method.
VIP Vehicle Service: Private car rental and VIP transfer services are provided from Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Osmaniye, Niğde, and Nevşehir.
Bus Service: The bus service offered by Havamaş is available reciprocally from Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Osmaniye, Niğde, and Nevşehir.
Getting from City Center to Airport
High-Speed Train (Planned): It will be possible to reach the airport in approximately 23 minutes by boarding the high-speed train from Mersin. The line is not yet completed.
