Heydar Aliyev International Airport is located northeast of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, approximately 20 km from the city center. Opened in 1999 to accommodate modern air transportation, the airport was named after former Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev on March 10, 2004. Its IATA code is GYD and ICAO code is UBBB. With an annual passenger capacity of 9 million, the airport is one of the largest and busiest in the Caucasus region. The airport has two terminals and is also of great importance for cargo transportation. Terminal 1 serves international flights, while Terminal 2 serves domestic flights. Getting from Airport to City Center

The journey time varies between 15-30 minutes. Baku Card is valid.
Bus (Line 116): The 116-numbered buses waiting at the terminal exit are an economical transportation option. These buses operate every 30 minutes and serve the airport-28 May route. Transportation to the city center takes approximately 40-45 minutes.
Taxi: At the terminal exit, taxis operated by the airport's licensed Baku Taxi company are available. You can reach the city center in about 25-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
