Hamburg Airport, officially known as Helmut Schmidt Airport, was opened in 1911 and is one of the oldest international airports still in operation in the world. With the IATA code HAM and ICAO code EDDH, the airport is located in the Fuhlsbüttel area of Hamburg, Germany, 8.5 km from the city center. With an annual passenger capacity of approximately 20 million, it is the fifth busiest airport in Germany. In 2023, it recorded a passenger traffic of 13.5 million. Hamburg Airport has the infrastructure to support various types of aircraft, including wide-body planes. Terminal Information
There are two terminals at Hamburg Airport, and these terminals are connected by the Airport Plaza. Getting from Airport to City Center

Departing from the metro station located under Terminals 1 and 2, the S1 train reaches the main train station Hauptbahnhof in 24 minutes and the Jungfernstieg stop in 27 minutes. Trains depart every 10 minutes and operate 24 hours on weekends.
Bus: Public buses are a cheap alternative to reach the city center from Hamburg Airport. You can use Route 606 and get off at the Rathausmarkt stop. Daytime buses generally operate between 05:00-00:00. There are several bus lines departing from the exits of both terminals.
