How to Get to the Airport
Metro / Light Rail (LRT Taipa Line + Bus Transfer): There is no direct metro from the city center on the Macau Peninsula to the airport. First, you need to take a bus to an LRT station in Taipa and then proceed to the Airport Station stop. The LRT Taipa line operates between 06:30–23:15, with services likely every 5–10 minutes. The total travel time to the airport with the city center → bus + LRT combination is generally around 30–40 minutes.
Bus (AP1 – Barrier Gate / from central stops): You can reach the airport directly by taking the AP1 line from stops around Barrier Gate, Av. de Amizade, Portas do Cerco. The journey takes approximately 25–35 minutes depending on traffic. The AP1 line operates from the city to the airport between 06:00–01:20, with services every 10–15 minutes during the day.
Bus (MT1 – With the Ring line): You can reach the airport by taking the MT1 bus line from stops on the bridges heading towards Taipa from the city center or from points where MT1 passes on the peninsula. This line provides convenience to passengers by passing through many points in the city.
Taxi: Taking a taxi from the city center to the airport is a fast and comfortable option. The journey time usually takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Taxis can be easily found at many points in the city center.
Hotel Shuttle Services: Many hotels offer free shuttle services to the airport for their guests. These services operate at specific times and generally require a reservation. Travel time and frequency may vary from hotel to hotel.
Gimhae International Airport (PUS)
From Airport to City Center
Metro (Light Rail System and Metro Transfer): The Busan-Gimhae Light Rail (BGL) system departs from the airport terminal and provides access to Sasang Station. From there, you can transfer to the green Metro Line 2 to reach the city center or Haeundae Beach. The total travel time varies between approximately 21-32 minutes. The light rail system operates from 05:06 AM to 00:10 AM.
Bus: The city bus number 307 departs from the airport and serves many stops up to the Haeundae tourism area. The journey takes about 90 minutes. Buses run from 06:40 AM to 11:23 PM. Additionally, the Gangseo bus number 13 reaches Gupo Station in 21 minutes and operates every 10 minutes.
Shuttle Bus Service: Private shuttle bus services provide door-to-door service from the airport to the Haeundae and Gwangalli hotel areas. The travel time varies between 60-90 minutes. Shuttle buses depart at 08:30, 09:30, 13:00, 15:00, 19:30, 20:30, and 22:00. The journey begins from the meeting point on the 1st floor of the International Terminal.
Taxi: Official taxi stands are located at the terminal exits. The journey to the city center takes about 23 minutes in light traffic. You can also call a taxi via the Uber app.
