Opened on February 28, 1977, the airport is one of Vietnam's major air transportation hubs and has a capacity of 30 million passengers annually. It features two parallel runways and two passenger terminals. Once expansion projects are completed, the capacity will increase to 50 million passengers. It offers various duty-free areas, restaurants, cafes, and shopping facilities for international and domestic passengers.
