Tamale International Airport is a significant airport serving the city of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. Officially named Yakubu Tali International Airport, this airfield was established in 1940 for military purposes and gradually opened to civilian flights. The airport is located approximately 23 km north of the city center, near the N10 highway. Its annual passenger capacity is around 217,899. The airport has one runway, 2,438 meters long, which allows for the takeoff and landing of narrow-body and some wide-body aircraft. It holds the distinction of being the third international airport in Ghana and plays an important role in cargo transportation.
