Opened to civil flights in 1995, this airport experienced significant expansion, especially in the 2010s and with the commissioning of Terminal 3 in 2017. Located approximately 25–30 km north of Wuhan city center, within the boundaries of Huangpi District, the airport is one of the largest and busiest in Central China.
