Dubai International Airport (DXB) opened on September 30, 1960, and is located in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Situated in the Al Garhoud area of Dubai, the airport has an annual passenger capacity of over 100 million. To manage this large passenger capacity, there are two wide runways (12L/30R and 12R/30L). Known as a significant transfer hub worldwide, the airport's IATA code is DXB and ICAO code is OMDB. It offers many facilities such as duty-free shops, restaurants, cafes, and shopping areas. Additionally, there are various hotel options and rest areas available for passengers. The airport also stands out as one of the busiest cargo transportation centers in the Middle East.
Terminal Information
There are three terminals at Dubai International Airport: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 serves international airlines except for Emirates and is connected to Concourse D. Terminal 2 is generally used for low-cost airlines and some international flights. Terminal 3, the hub of Emirates Airline, has Concourses A, B, and C, specially designed for A380 aircraft. Transportation between these terminals, where there are no domestic flights, is provided by automated people movers and moving walkways.
Getting from Airport to City Center
Metro: The Red Line provides transportation from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 to the city center. Travel time varies between 25 and 40 minutes. The Red Line reaches important areas parallel to the coastline. The Green Line offers access to the historic city center by transferring at Union or BurJuman Stations. There is no metro access to Terminal 2.
Bus: The C01 line provides direct transportation from the airport to the city center. You can take the 32C bus from Terminal 1 and transfer to bus number 14 at Satwa Clinic stop to reach Mazaya Center 1. Buses operate from 04:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
Taxi: Taxis are easily available at all terminals and operate 24/7. Travel time to the city center by taxi varies depending on estimated time and distance.
Private Transfer Services: Airport transfer services can be preferred for direct transportation to your destination.
Car Rental: There are many international and local car rental companies at the airport. By renting a car, you can easily reach various areas of the city.
Getting from City Center to Airport
Metro: The Red Line reaches Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 from the city center. If you are on the Green Line, you can transfer at Union or BurJuman stations to reach the airport.
Bus: Direct transportation to the airport from the city center is available via the C01 line.
Taxi: It is easy to reach the airport from the city center by taxi. Taxis can be found throughout the city or called via ride-hailing apps.
