Moscow Domodedovo Airport, officially known as Domodedovo Mikhail Lomonosov International Airport, is located 42 km south of Moscow city center, in the Domodedovo region. Construction began in 1948, started operations with mail and cargo flights in 1962, and was fully opened in 1965. The airport is recognized by the IATA code DME and the ICAO code UUDD. This airport, with two parallel runways, is the first in Russia to have this feature. In 2010, it served more than 22 million passengers and in 2017, it handled 35% of Moscow's traffic.
